From today’s Psalm (Psalm 24:4-6,7-9):
'Lord, make me know your ways.
Lord, teach me your paths.
Make me walk in your truth, and teach me:
for you are God my saviour.'
This passage is all about surrendering. Surrendering ourselves to God and trusting in His plan for each of us.
It’s a classic failing in many of us that we just don’t get the idea that God can actually have an effect in our daily lives; the day-to-day tasks, the mundane. We believe in God but, for many, we aren’t necessarily convinced that He actually works in us and through us.
Yet He does work in us, and the more we open up and surrender to Him the more He will let us know His ways; the more he will teach us His paths; and the more we will walk in His truth. It’s letting more of you out and letting more of God in. What joy! You can take a back seat for a bit!
God never tires of helping us. We are His creation and He loves us, so He never tires of responding to our call. He will happily accept any old excuse to dig in and help us out! But for Him to be able to respond we must first ask…
