I witnessed a very joyful occasion in Glasgow today. At lunchtime Mass in St Andrew's Cathedral the priest who said Mass simply could not stop smiling!
Throughout the entire Mass his joy was infectious and spread throughout the entire congregation, making it a truly blessed and happy occasion.
His homily was no less joyful. He spoke of how we are celebrating that Jesus is alive. In his appearances to Mary Magdalene and the Apostles, Jesus redeems himself. Jesus shows that death has been overcome and he is alive. It's that simple said the smiling priest.
The homily continued, encouraging us to believe in God and to trust Him. Jesus trusted Him and was delivered from death; to live for eternity. We too can be delivered from death by that same God if we too believe in Him, and trust Him.
